When was zyra last on sale
Asked by maxsbird2 on October 19, As a Zyra player who prefers to let plants deal the damage rather than myself, at what point should I get a Banner of Command? Assuming I lay at least 2 seeds per spell cast, would I also have to have lane or allied pets nearby to be effective?

She flung off the bedsheets and saw that there was no insect, but rather a tendril vine weaving through her toes, entangling her ankle, and twining around her leg.
She kicked but could not get the green and red shoots to release her leg. They tightened, biting into her flesh. She pried them off with her fingernails. Her hands bled from thorny splinters.
The snaking stalks wound a trail from under the bed chamber door, where they sprouted aerial rootlets to climb the bed frame. Her mind immediately flashed to Cazworth. Armed with a flickering lantern and a pair of sewing shears, Hatilly followed the vines through the hallway of their manse. The door took several tries to open. The room was covered, floor to ceiling, with floral growth.
Exotic bulbs dangled from the walls, their finger-like leaves undulating as if drawing breath. Flowers seemed to mock her through the darkness, flashing their rainbow petals like signal fires. All had sprouted from a singular dark nexus: an enormous closed flower bud, which lay on the fainting couch by the fireplace, where Hatilly herself often read while Cazworth worked. Bits of ceramic and soil lay strewn about.
The zychid had outgrown its habitat. All manner of protrusion crept from its pulsating petals. But not without Cazworth. Vines twisted around the legs of the chair, the legs of the study table, the legs of…. Still sitting in his chair, Cazworth was cocooned from head to toe by a writhing mass of leaves. Hatilly reached his side, bare feet slipping on the foliage underfoot. She cut frantically at the strangling vines, but each snip of the shears only made them tighten their grip and produce little thorns that pierced her and her husband.
Blood trickled out. Where the drops landed, zychid blossoms burst forward to feed. A stench filled the air, like a rotting corpse. With tears in her eyes, she turned her head toward the fainting couch, where the zychid bud was flowering. The stench grew worse. Hatilly retched. The gargantuan petals peeled backward in colorful layers, revealing oblong petals of striking scarlet and deep green, garlanded in black tips, revealing a woman in place of the stamen.
Her hair was red as blood. Her flesh like leaves. Vines and petals wreathed her in deadly beauty. Her eyes opened. Hatilly inhaled sweet fragrances—orange blossoms, the aroma of Sapphire Roses, the fruity scent of Kraken Lilies, the musk of Pearls of the Moon, the delicate hints of wisteria. There were more, secret flowers, but she somehow knew their names—they smelled of colors her eyes never saw. To make the soil here more… fertile. Hatilly saw visions of a world covered by a bouquet of colorful death.
It was a beautiful riot of hues, soft and fluttering, choking cities. There were no graves, no war, no money… Hatilly was breathless.
Cast Deadly Spines or Grasping Roots near seeds causes them to grow plants. A Thorn Spitter has range and lasts 8 seconds. Zyra stores a seed periodically Max: 8 seeds planted. Slows from multiple Vine Lashers stack up to 2 times. A Vine Lasher has range and lasts 8 seconds. Continuing with a third round of changes to diversify and widen the jungle champion pool. You'll notice that Morgana is getting a specific change to have her be viable in the jungle along buffs to her main roles.
We're monitoring the effect of these changes to assure that they're not overwhelmingly affecting anything at the higher rungs of the skill ladder while also confirming that they are in fact fostering more diverse picks.
Patch Zyra never had a reason to spawn multiple Vine Lashers since having one was the same as having two. But now that we made the Lashers' slow stackable, Zyra can plan her actions around the plants and actually think about which one she wants. E - Grasping Roots. Patch 9. Reducing the damage Zyra's plants takes, especially from those that shouldn't trigger additional effects.
Passive - Garden of Thorns. We took a light touch with last patch's mana regen nerf which asked Zyra to be a little more careful with her cooldowns. This patch swings harder by targeting her harass from plants which lets her keep opponents at bay even when she misses her abilities.
Lower mana regen means Zyra will need to think twice before fishing for hits with Deadly Spines and Grasping Roots, lest she be caught out without resources during a gank or all-in. W - Rampant Growth. Zyra contributes slightly less in skirmishes than we'd like, but we're definitely not comfortable increasing her already-high damage. Some extra crowd control should give her more of an impact in those small fights. Mages are also getting some changes to their mana pools and their mana growth.
Twisted Fate. W charge time reduced whenever Zyra kills an enemy. W no longer increases plant health. Zyra's one of the champions that makes us have long discussions about what a healthy gameplay pattern is, even more so when she's t h orn between being a midlaner or a support. It also made us think about what it means to have champions transitioning from one lane to another and what that means for the game in general.
We always get super excited whenever we see champions having fun play patterns in more than one role. For Zyra especially, we found ways for her to thrive as a support in a healthier way, but it wasn't all flowers just yet. This set of changes should provide our favorite fern more agency to go where she wants or where her team needs her the most. If you feel compelled to see it for yourself, please avoid doing so in ranked.
Q costs more mana. When Zyra does plant things at you, her abilities are only half the story - she's also sprouting a garden of Thornspitters and Vine Lashers. Once you've dodged Q - Deadly Spines. Before the 6.
As a squishy mage, Zyra should be rewarded for taking risks to play aggressively when her abilities hit. Increased Passive and W cooldowns. Yet another support champion with an immensely strong laning phase, Zyra has spread like a weed through the bot lane. She should certainly be great at zoning with her plants, but right now they're a little too good at their job, targeting enemy champions before Zyra herself never show initiative in the workplace.
In addition, seeds spawn much too quickly, letting Zyra sow whenever she pleases. We're bringing her plants in line, giving other supports a chance to blossom. Passive - Garden of Thorns Seeds spawn around Zyra periodically, becoming faster with level. If an enemy champion steps on a seed, it dies. If Zyra is hiding in brush, seeds will not spawn until she reveals herself.
R - Stranglethorns. In a world without mana potions and generally less early mana regeneration , we've identified a few champions for some emergency rations, giving early mana boosts until they can get their footing and purchase items to make up the deficit.
This also means we can really understand which champions relied on mana potions as a crutch to limp through the early to mid game, and we can give additional love if necessary. Mana Regen. What we had left was pretty scary. Rampant Growth's passive cooldown reduction has decreased.
The plants spawned from Rampant Growth have had their base damage reduced at lower levels, but increased later on. Context: Our overall strategy here is to tone down Zyra's early level poke damage and, while we are reducing some of her overall power, we also want to improve her ability to fluidly combo cast with seeds.
Additionally, reducing the base damage of her spells while increasing the AP ratios is aimed at reducing her power as a support without hurting her capabilities as a mage. August 7th Hotfix. Main Page All Pages.
