When do nyu admissions come out
Please review the frequently asked questions below about the confirmation process, program changes and cancellations. If you are unable to find your answer here, contact global. Before midnight EST! We aim to send out notification during regular business hours, but if you have not heard by 5 pm don't worry. You will soon! Once confirmation is received or the deferment request granted, students will receive an email confirming their spot within 24 hours.
Any student who has been admitted to one program but wants to switch to another should complete the program change form. Completing that form does not guarantee admission to the new program. You will be reviewed for the new program and notified of a decision shortly. If you are sure you do not want to attend the program you were admitted do not confirm or cancel your spot. If you still plan to study away at the location you were admitted if not allowed to switch programs, it is advised you confirm your spot.
You can only have one application on file with Global Programs per term. If you would like to reactivate your application, you must contact global. Your admission to the program will be dependent on space and immigration restrictions and is not guaranteed. If you are certain that no other program except your first choice program will be an option, you can request to be put on a wait list. By going on the wait list, you will be forfeiting your spot in your second choice or any other available program.
Most doctoral programs make their decisions in February and March. They arrange to have decisions emailed by mid- to late March. Master's and non-degree programs make their decisions at different times, beginning in early March. All decision notifications are done by email.
I've been accepted. How long do I have to accept the offer of admission? Your offer of admission will specify the reply deadline. The most common reply period is four weeks from the date of your offer of admission; however, it may be shorter in some cases.
You must follow the instructions on the Admitted Student Resource Page your personal link is in your admissions email in order to officially accept the offer and to hold your place in the Graduate School. Can I defer my admission?
Yes, for a maximum of one year, if your department approves your request; not all programs permit deferrals. You must make a written request to Graduate Enrollment Services email gsas.
